This is an accessory for airplane models in 1:32 scale, rendering an aircraft weapon of 40 mm caliber of the Vickers type. Weapons of that caliber were among the heaviest carried on airplanes, and their installation was markedly more substantial than that of machine guns, so it is clearly visible on a model in a large scale and the work put into it shows. The accessory replaces or supplements the part from the box and suits anywhere you want the armament worked out more carefully than a production molding allows.
The parts are not polystyrene, so modeling cement for plastic has no effect on them; join them with cyanoacrylate glue, with a light sanding of the mating face on larger areas. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder down carefully, so that the edges and the outline are not disturbed. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold. The particular procedure for preparing them is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
On a weapon it pays to lay down a primer first and only then a dark metal shade; without a primer the coat rubs off with handling. Then pick the edges and worn areas out gently with a dry brush. Try the placing on the model dry before you reach for the glue, and sand any seating faces so that the weapon sits in the correct position and on the correct axis.
The accessory set is supplied on its own. The airplane kit, paints, glue and putty are not included, unless stated otherwise.
