This plastic kit from Trumpeter captures the American subsonic LTV A-7D Corsair II attack aircraft in the large 1:32 scale. The D version was intended for the US Air Force. The set is made of injection-molded plastic and offers rich rendering of the surface, a detailed cockpit, external stores and decals for period markings. The model is meant to be glued and painted.
The A-7 Corsair II was a single-seat subsonic attack aircraft developed from the F-8 Crusader carrier fighter. The A-7D version was created for the US Air Force and received a more powerful turbofan engine and a built-in rotary cannon. It was deployed above all in the late period of the Vietnam War as an accurate carrier of bombs and rockets.
The large scale invites careful work on the cockpit and the external stores. Use liquid cement for the plastic, apply a primer and put the paints on with an airbrush. Bring out the panel lines with a wash and complete the metal surfaces of the engine and the exhaust nozzle with metal shades. Paint the external stores separately before fitting them.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
