This resin set replaces the horizontal tail surfaces (the stabilizer with the elevator) on plastic models of the twin-boom Lockheed P-38J Lightning fighter in 1:72 scale. The casting has fine surface detail and a more accurate section shape than the plastic parts from the base kit. It is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory for superdetailing.
The P-38 Lightning was an American twin-engine fighter with its distinctive twin-boom layout and a central nacelle. The J version was among the powerful late variants used during the Second World War in Europe and in the Pacific. The tail surfaces are carried on a crossbeam joining the rear ends of the two booms.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as resin parts. Paints, glue and the base model are not included in the package.
