Albatros D.I 1:32 Roden is an injection-molded plastic kit of an early German fighter biplane of the First World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
This plastic kit from Roden captures the German Albatros D.I fighter biplane in the large 1:32 scale. The set is made of injection-molded plastic and offers a detailed inline engine and a well rendered cockpit with the wooden fuselage structure; decals for period markings are enclosed. The model is meant to be glued and painted.
The Albatros D.I was one of the first truly modern German fighter aircraft. It introduced an elegant semi-monocoque plywood fuselage and the heavy armament of two synchronized machine guns. Thanks to its powerful inline engine and good firepower it helped the Germans gain temporary air superiority at the turn of 1916 and 1917.
A biplane calls for patience with the struts and the bracing wires. Use liquid cement for the plastic and work up the cockpit and the engine before closing the fuselage. Render the plywood fuselage with wood glazes, add the rigging wires with fine thread and paint the metal engine parts in metal shades.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
