A metal set from the Polish brand MASTER with turned MG 131 machine gun tips and a pitot tube for the late Bf 109 versions in 1:32 scale. It is not a kit but a detail accessory to a plastic model, which you obtain separately.
From the G-5 version the Bf 109 received heavier 13 mm machine guns above the engine in place of the earlier light 7.92 mm weapons. The bulkier breeches did not fit under the engine cowling, and so conspicuous bulges appeared on either side ahead of the cockpit. It is by these that the late versions are recognized at first glance, and by these that you choose the right set; for the earlier F version and the early G a different one applies.
Gun muzzles are clearly visible on a model in 1:32, and a plastic molding always has a solid, slightly tapered end. A metal part has a genuine bore and a sharp muzzle edge, holds a straight line and is not damaged when the surrounding area is sanded. The pitot tube on the wing is then the part that breaks most often on plastic models; in metal it survives handling of a finished model.
Shorten the plastic guns, redrill the hole to the diameter of the pin and check the depth and axis dry. Bond with a minimal drop of super glue applied into the hole, not onto the part. Degrease the metal with alcohol and spray it with a primer for metal, otherwise the paint rubs off. Leave the muzzles in bare metal and merely darken them gently with graphite, or use a bluing agent; it holds on metal better than paint and does not clog the bore. Fit the thinnest parts only after the decals and the varnish.
This is an accessory to a model, not a standalone kit. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
