A resin replacement pilot seat of the metal type for models of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter in the F, G and K versions in 1:32 scale. The accessory from the Quickboost range by the Czech firm Aires offers crisper detail on the seat pan than an ordinary molding allows, and replacing it is among the simplest ways to lift a cockpit. It is not a model in its own right - the basic kit has to be obtained separately.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 went through constant development during the Second World War, and the F, G and K versions shared a similar cockpit layout. Seats of metal and of wooden construction were both used in the pilot's compartment; this set captures the metal type with its characteristic shaped pan, into which the pilot sat with a parachute on his back.
Wash the casting in soapy water, cut the casting block off with a saw and sand the surface down; protect your airways while sanding. Glue the seat with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint it in the interior shade for the machine you have chosen, rub the edges through with a metallic paint or a pencil and add a shading wash. Consider adding seat belts, which will finish the seat off visually.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The basic aircraft kit is not included in the package.
