Watch out for a mix-up: this is a set of photo-etched metal parts, not a masking set and not a kit. The base model of the two-seat Super Hornet in 1:32 scale has to be obtained separately.
Photo-etched parts come about by chemically etching thin metal sheet. They therefore reach a thickness that injection-molded plastic never has — on elements that are only a few millimeters thick in reality the difference is obvious. In 1:32 scale that shows most of all: the edges are sharp, the grilles see-through, the flat faces flat. You will find the exact make-up of the set and the number of parts in the instructions supplied with the set. Before buying, check that the set matches your kit — photo-etched sets are cut for a particular model.
Separate the parts with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface; never break them out. Use a bending tool or two razor blades for the folds and press steadily. Bond them with cyanoacrylate glue in a minimal amount; excess will fog the surrounding surface and dull transparent parts. First rid the spot where the photo-etched part goes of its original plastic detail and sand it level. Degrease the metal before painting and spray a primer.
