1:32 Dornier Do 335B-2 - masks is a masking set from HGW for the German twin-engine fighter of the end of the Second World War. It is not a model of the aircraft but self-adhesive masks that make spraying the glazing and other areas of a model in 1:32 scale easier.

This item is not a kit of the aircraft. It is a masking set for a model of the German Do 335 in the B-2 version in 1:32 scale. The masks are precisely shaped self-adhesive pieces which are stuck onto the clear parts and sprayed over with paint; once lifted, a crisp boundary stays between the frame and the clear area.
Why masks and not tape - in 1:32 scale the cockpit canopy is large and the frames are long and curved. Cutting them from tape means hours of work, and one slip of the blade ruins a clear part which essentially cannot be repaired. A pre-cut mask shortens that step to a few minutes and the result is repeatable.
The Dornier Do 335 Pfeil was a German twin-engine aircraft with an unusual arrangement of its power: one engine with a propeller was at the front in the tractor position, the second behind the cockpit drove a pusher propeller at the end of the fuselage. This tandem arrangement removed the asymmetric thrust on the failure of one engine that plagued conventional twin-engine machines, and at the same time allowed an aerodynamically clean fuselage. The B version was conceived as a heavy fighter with strengthened gun armament. The type practically never reached production service and only a small number of machines were built.
Wash and degrease the clear parts before masking; on a greasy surface a mask does not hold and the paint creeps under it. Move the mask with tweezers and press it down with a toothpick or a blunt point, especially in the corners. Spray thin coats; a heavy coat will create a step at the edge. Lift the mask off while the paint is only dry to the touch, not fully cured; the tip of a scalpel, with which you lift a corner of the mask, will help.
The masks are an accessory for a kit. The kit itself and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
