Art Scale TBD-1 Devastator part 1 - Midway (1:32) is a decal set with the markings of American torpedo bombers from the Battle of Midway on June 4, 1942.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set of waterslide decals in 1:32 scale brings the markings of American carrier-based Douglas TBD-1 Devastator torpedo bombers from the crucial Battle of Midway on June 4, 1942. It contains the markings of several particular aircraft from the carrier torpedo squadrons. It is an accessory for a model, not a kit.
The Douglas TBD-1 Devastator was, when it was introduced, a modern single-engine carrier-based torpedo bomber of the US Navy. At Midway, however, the by then obsolete machines suffered heavy losses attacking the Japanese aircraft carriers, as the torpedo squadrons pressed home without fighter cover. Their self-sacrificing attack became one of the symbols of that decisive battle in the Pacific.
Apply the decals to a finished, smooth and glossy model over gloss varnish, with a decal softener so that they settle into the detail. Once dry, unify the surface with a matte or semi-gloss varnish according to the character of the aircraft.
The aircraft model and the paints are not included in the package. The set contains only the decals and the instructions.
