This set of 3D-printed color decals on decal paper from Quinta Studio is intended for the pilot's compartment of a model of the F-35A Lightning II in 1:32 scale. The elements have raised relief and the color already in them, so the lengthy painting of the small details of the cockpit with a fine brush falls away.
The F-35A is the single-seat land-based variant of the fifth-generation fighter, with conventional takeoff and landing. Compared with older types the cockpit is markedly simpler to look at: instead of the classic clutter of dials it is dominated by a large touch screen. That is exactly why a set with colored relief comes in useful here: the displays and their bezels are rather hard to paint by hand.
Cut the elements out close to the edge, soak them in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide them off the backing paper onto a smooth, degreased and glossy surface. They have no adhesive layer of their own and are held by gloss clear coat (Future, Klear, Tamiya X-22), so a matte surface is a mistake; on articulated areas a drop of cyanoacrylate helps. Do not use a decal softener with this range: its chemistry attacks the printed resin and ruins the element. Let it dry through properly and close the cockpit up only after that. At the end unify the surface with matte varnish and pick the areas of the displays out as you like with a drop of gloss varnish.
