This is a set of pre-printed color 3D decals for adding detail to the two-seat cockpit of the F-4 Phantom II fighter, specifically for the early F-4E versions and the Japanese F-4EJ, in 1:32 scale. It is not a model nor a kit — it is a relief decal for the cockpit with a three-dimensional structure and faithful colors, which replaces the flat parts of the base kit without the need to paint the instruments by hand or to work with photo-etched parts. The set is designed for a particular plastic kit of the Tamiya brand. It holds relief instrument and side panels of the front and the rear cockpit and the seat belts.
The F-4 Phantom II was a two-seat twin-engine multirole fighter. The F-4E version brought a built-in cannon, and the Japanese F-4EJ was produced under license for the air force there.
After a brief immersion in lukewarm water, separate the piece from the carrier film with tweezers and lay it in place in the cockpit. Relief decals are thicker than ordinary decals, so seat them with a water-thinnable glue or with acrylic clear. The set suits more advanced modelers rather than beginners.
