A resin detail set from the Brassin line of the Czech manufacturer Eduard in 1:48 scale. It is not a model of an airplane but a small accessory, with which you will improve the cockpit of the plastic kit of the American P-51D Mustang fighter. The set holds finely cast rearview mirrors of the kind the pilots used to watch the space behind the aircraft during combat.
The North American P-51D Mustang is an American single-seat fighter aircraft of the Second World War with a bubble canopy and a long range. A rearview mirror placed on the frame of the canopy was among the practical elements that helped the pilot keep an overview of the situation behind his back. Although it is a small thing, it is well visible on a finished model.
Carefully wash the resin parts clean of the mold release agent and separate them from the casting blocks; with parts as small as these work slowly and with a sharp knife. Glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) laid on in a minimal amount. The reflecting surface can be suggested with a polished silver paint or with a small piece of self-adhesive mirror film.
This is an accessory for a plastic kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
