Quickboost 1:32 Focke-Wulf Fw-190D-9 factory engine cowling is a replacement part for a model in 1:32 scale. It replaces the cowling of the powerplant from the kit and matches the late factory shape; the aircraft as such is not included in the package.

What sets the Dora apart

Instead of a radial engine the Fw 190 D-9 received a V engine, because of which the nose grew longer and an annular radiator appeared in front of it. To keep the center of gravity right, the rear part of the fuselage was lengthened as well. The resulting silhouette is so characteristic of this version that the exact shape of the cowling is noticed at once on a model, and early and late examples differed in the details of the cowling. The nose is thus the most closely watched part of the whole model on this version.

How to fit the part

First remove the original plastic part and level the mating surface. Offer the new cowling up dry and align it by rotating it to the axis of the fuselage; only then fix it. Smooth the gap around its circumference as finely as possible, because this is exactly where the eye falls first after spraying. Before fixing it, compare the height of the seating against the spine of the fuselage once more, because even a small twist shows very strongly on a slender nose.
