1:32 German Pin set

What the item is

This is an accessory set with a German subject in 1:32 scale, placed among figures. Sets of this kind round a finished figure or a scene out with small things a kit itself does not offer, and in such a large scale details like that are noticeable at first glance. The item is sold under the designation German Pin set and is carried in its own right, that is as an accessory for a model or for a figure you already have.

Working with tiny parts

For the small features get out tweezers with fine tips and a light surface with a rim, so that a part does not escape onto the floor. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder down carefully. Wash the surface and degrease it before painting, otherwise the paint holds badly on a smooth material. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; cyanoacrylate glue applied with a pin in a really small amount will serve universally.

Painting tips

• paint the small features before fitting them, as a brush will not reach them once they are glued on
• a thin brush and thinned paint will handle a detail better than thick paint and a heavy stroke
• a dark glaze in the recesses and drybrushing on the edges will bring out the raised detail
• fix the finished work with a thin layer of varnish, as small parts are often picked up

Terms of supply

The paints, glue and base are not included in this item, unless stated otherwise. Count on it being a good idea to finish and paint the small features before fitting them to the model.
