Masks for markings, Gloster Gladiator Mk.I 1:32 (MH models)

A set of self-adhesive masks for spraying the markings onto a model of the Gloster Gladiator Mk.I biplane fighter in 1:32 scale. It concentrates on insignia such as code letters, numbers and lettering, that is, on a different group from the national roundel set by the same manufacturer for the same type. Sprayed markings have no carrier film, so on textured covering they neither silver nor wrinkle. The model, paints and decals are not included in the package. The masks are cut for the ICM kit.

The real subject

The Gloster Gladiator closed the era of biplane fighters of the Royal Air Force. It reached service in the second half of the 1930s and had an enclosed cockpit, fixed landing gear and a radial engine. The Mk.I version was the first production variant. Individual machines carried a combination of code letters and serial numbers whose size, placement and color differed by unit and by period, so always relate the form of the markings to the machine you are building.

How to use the masks

Work on a smooth, perfectly dry and preferably glossy surface. Transfer the mask with tweezers, press it down with a soft stick and seal the edges thoroughly, with particular care across the ribs and seams of the covering. Spray perpendicularly and in thin coats. With letters and numerals do not forget to transfer the inner islands of closed shapes as well, or you will end up with solid insignia. Take the mask off shortly after the paint has set, pulling at an acute angle across the edge.
