1:32 Gnome-Rhone 14N offers the later stage of development of the French fourteen-cylinder engine series for models in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A power unit for detailing a model in 1:32 scale. The letter in the designation is not accidental: it distinguishes the generation of the engine and with it the circle of machines it belongs in. An aircraft is not in the package.
In the second half of the 1930s the 14N series followed on from the older fourteen-cylinder engines of the same marque and became one of the main power units of the French Air Force just before the war. It powered the Bloch MB.152 fighter as well as twin-engine bombers, among them the Lioré et Olivier LeO 451 and the Amiot 354. The arrangement stayed two-row, but the engine received a higher output and modified accessories, so it differs from the older variant in details that are apparent in a large scale.
Before you seat the engine, make clear to yourself from the documentation of your machine what the exhaust system looked like, because it is precisely that which differs most between individual installations. When painting, work from a dark base toward the light edges and separate the cylinder heads with a shade of a different sheen than the rest of the block. A fine dark wash into the shadows between the cylinders then raises the impression of depth in the engine compartment.
