The real subject

The Harrier GR.Mk.7 is a British attack aircraft capable of a short takeoff and a vertical landing, that is a machine which does not need an ordinary airfield surface. The seventh mark of the British second-generation Harriers was among the modernized machines of the Royal Air Force, and its cockpit looks different from that of the older versions: fewer dial instruments, more screens and control panels. That is exactly why the interior is rewarding on a model, as a large part of the equipment is visible on a machine with the cockpit uncovered.

What the set offers

The set replaces the flat parts and decals from the kit with colored elements in relief. The instrument panel, the side panels and the other cockpit equipment thus gain a depth that paint alone cannot manage: the dials and switches have a noticeable thickness and shadows form on them of their own accord. The elements are shaped for the Trumpeter kit given in the name; with another kit, count on having to adjust the shape.

Application step by step

First level and degrease the surfaces under the elements; no raised detail must be left on them that would lift an element. Separate the elements one at a time with a sharp blade or tweezers and seat them dry until the shape fits. Before applying them, check in the instructions whether the elements are self-adhesive; the way they are applied differs between lines and the set does not state it in its designation. Apply the pressure with a soft stick from the center toward the edges, so the element seats even in the recesses.
