The item is a detailing accessory for the cockpit, not a kit. Quinta Studio prints the elements three-dimensionally and in color right away onto decal paper, so an applied part has depth and color division but is applied like an ordinary wet decal. Seats are among the most closely watched parts of large models, because they are the first thing seen once the canopy is slid back. Because the manufacturer also keeps a variant for a model from another brand in the same scale, what matters with this item is that it is cut for the Tamiya kit.
The GRU-7A is a type of ejection seat used in the two-seat carrier-based F-14 fighter. The seat is densely covered with straps, pouches and color-coded control elements, so this is exactly where the difference between bare plastic and a detailed version shows most on a model. In the large 1:32 scale these details are clearly legible even in photographs of a finished model.
Paint the seats with a base color first and polish them with a gloss varnish, and only then apply the decals. Cut the parts close, soak them in lukewarm water and move them with a brush. Fine-tune the bends and edges by pressing with a damp swab. A decal softener does not belong on these elements, as its chemistry attacks the printed resin. Once it has dried, even the surface out with a matte varnish and bring the shadows out lightly, so that the seat does not give a flat impression. Do the assembly before the cockpit is closed up.
