A Quinta Studio set aimed at the K-36DM seat in its first production form. According to the name it is not tied to a single kit and is made for the machines that used this early shape of the seat, which are listed specifically in the name.
The K-36DM is a Soviet escape seat which from the 1970s became the standard on a whole range of combat aircraft. It allowed a machine to be left even at zero altitude and zero speed, which was an exceptional capability in its day. The early production form the set is devoted to appeared on the types given in the name; the later series differ from it in details of shape and equipment. The design became the basis for a whole range of later forms.
With the canopy raised, the seat is the most striking element of the whole cockpit and a viewer notices it before anything else. In a large scale the divisions of the backrest and the run of the straps come into their own on it. Before you seat it permanently, check dry that it drops into the cockpit tub of your model and does not keep the canopy from closing. Deal with the floor and the side walls around it as well, or the detail will fall flat.
