This is a detail accessory of cast resin, not a kit of an aircraft. The content is replacement underwing pylons for a model of the Kawasaki Ki-61-I Hien in 1:32. The Quickboost range is built on simple replacement parts that are fitted quickly and as a rule without major modification, while markedly raising the level of detail.
The Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien was a Japanese fighter of the Second World War, unusual among Japanese production machines for its liquid-cooled V12 engine and slender nose. The Ki-61-I version represents the first production series. Under the wing the aircraft carried pylons for auxiliary fuel tanks, which extended the range, or for other stores. The pylons are small but distinctive parts where injected plastic runs up against its limits, because they cannot be molded thin enough.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent to remove any release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw, holding the small parts in tweezers while you do or leaving them to be cut off just before gluing so that they do not get lost. Sand wet and with your airways protected. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). First mark the position of the pylons on the wing with a pencil from the plastic originals and check that both are the same distance from the fuselage and parallel with the axis of the aircraft; asymmetric stores show at once on a finished model. It is best to paint them separately and glue them on only after the basic wing color has been sprayed.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
