An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-12 fighter in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. The model captures the late long-nosed version of the Dora family with finely engraved panel lines and a detailed cockpit. The package contains decal sheets for color schemes. It is a rewarding model of one of the technically most interesting versions of the famous Focke-Wulf.
The Fw 190D, nicknamed Dora, was the long-nosed version of the Focke-Wulf fighter powered by a Junkers Jumo 213 V12 engine with an annular radiator, which gave it its characteristic elongated nose. The D-12 version was one of the late attack forms with strengthened armor and with a cannon firing through the propeller hub. It came about only at the very end of the Second World War and was built in small numbers only.
Use liquid cement on the plastic and finish and paint the cockpit before you close up the fuselage. For the late German camouflage schemes a combination of gray-green shades works well; bring out the panel lines with a dark wash and unify the surface with a matte varnish. Mask the glazing and fit it at the end, so that it stays clean.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
