1:32 Late War Messerschmitt Bf-109, Volume 2 is the second part of the AIMS decal series devoted to the late versions of the Bf 109 in a large scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A continuation of the set focused on the final combat versions of the Messerschmitt Bf 109. The sheet in 1:32 scale brings markings for five aircraft, specifically the G-5, G-6, G-10, G-14 and K-4 subversions.
The Bf 109 was improved continually from its origin in the middle of the 1930s. The G version received a more powerful engine, bulges over the guns and, on later examples, a taller wooden vertical tail surface, while the G-10 and K-4 forms received the ultimate powerplant and a smoother cowling. There is a lively discussion among modelers around the transition between the individual subversions, because the production plants combined parts according to what was at hand. On the last series you therefore meet combinations which at first glance look like a mistake, although period photographs document them.
Before you use the sheet, compare the shape of the cowling and the tail surfaces on your model with the aircraft you have chosen, as on the late versions the details differ from one machine to another. The numerals on the fuselage tend to be large and are the most conspicuous features of the whole model, so place them according to the dimensions in the instructions, not by eye. On a dark surface a white underprint layer also comes in useful, otherwise light numerals lose their strength. Try the procedure out on an offcut of sprue first.
The delivery contains decals, and no plastic or photo-etched parts.
