An accessory set for models of the Lockheed F-80 Shooting Star and the T-33 trainer in 1:32 scale, cut for Special Hobby kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Lockheed F-80 Shooting Star was the first American jet fighter to reach squadron service. Its airframe gave rise to the two-seat T-33 trainer, which became one of the most widespread training machines of the postwar years and stayed in training with a number of air forces for whole decades. The early version qualifier in the name refers to the older form of both aircraft.
The set is cut for Special Hobby kits in 1:32 scale. The large scale does the model good: details that get lost at smaller scales are clearly apparent here on a finished piece. Before building, check which of the two subjects you are building and in which version, so that the accessory matches your kit.
The fitting procedure and the recommended order of work are given in the manufacturer's instructions. Follow them and fix nothing permanently until you have tried the fit dry. With parts that are glued to the model it pays to wash and degrease the area in advance so that both the joint and the paint hold. Work in small steps, with tweezers and in good light; at a large scale every inaccuracy shows on a finished model.
The set suits a modeler who wants his machine more thoroughly worked out than the basic kit offers and does not mind fine work. It will also be appreciated by anyone building for a display case who wants the finished piece as close to the real subject as possible. The kit itself, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
