The set brings together three chutes for fired cases and four feed channels, that is the parts that connect the ammunition boxes with the weapons in the defensive armament of the Junkers Ju 88 A-4 bomber. The resin castings correspond to 1:32 scale and replace the simplified shapes in plastic, whose rendition tends to be the weakest point of the interior on large kits.
The rapid-firing MG 81 machine gun of 7.92 millimeter caliber came into German bombers as a replacement for older weapons and was often mounted in a twin form. The cabin of the Ju 88 concentrated the whole crew together, so the gunners handled weapons in the front glazing, in the upper position and in the lower gondola. Belts of ammunition led to the weapons through channels whose shape is exactly what this set captures.
Seat the parts before you close up the halves of the glazing; once the cabin is glued you will not get to them any more. First paint the inside of the compartment and only then glue the castings in. The belts and boxes stand out after being brought out with a dark filling shade and with a dry brush with metallic paint. The rounds in the belt need only be touched with a brass tone.
Neither the machine guns themselves nor the kit of the bomber is part of the package.
