This item is not a kit of the aircraft but a resin accessory of the Aires brand. It replaces the exhaust nozzle of the engine on a model of the MiG-21MF in 1:32 scale, and that in the closed position, that is the way the nozzle looks on a machine standing on the ground with the engine shut down. The same brand also offers a variant with the nozzle open in the same scale - choose according to whether you are building the aircraft at rest or in a configuration with the engine at full power.
On a jet model the exhaust assembly is one of the places where a plastic kit is at its weakest. The segments of the nozzle cannot be cast from a mold thin enough, so the edge looks coarse and the inside tends to be shallow. A resin casting allows a thin wall, a sharp edge and a believable depth of the duct, which in the large 1:32 scale you really do notice - you can look straight into the nozzle.
Wash the parts in warm soapy water, so that the mold release agent is removed. Cut the casting block off with a saw and level the surface wet on abrasive paper, and protect your breathing while sanding resin. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Keep dry-fitting, because seating it into the rear of the fuselage often calls for material to be removed from the inside. Painting: apply metallic shades onto a smooth gloss base, build up the heat tinting in layers with thinned transparent shades and do the soot at the edge with a dark wash or with a pigment.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
