The real subject

The Mitsubishi A6M2, known among the Allies by the nickname Zero, was a Japanese carrier fighter with a radial engine. It won its reputation through agility and a long range, which it achieved with a very light structure; for that, however, it paid with weak protection for the pilot and for the tanks. In the first months of the war in the Pacific it was among the fighters to which Allied pilots could not find an answer straight away.

What the set contains

The set of the SPACE range brings color elements that are laid directly onto the parts of the model and carry both printed colors and a three-dimensional surface. They replace the painting by hand of small areas, on which every inaccuracy shows in 1:32 scale.

Building and painting tips

Apply the elements only onto parts that are painted and dry. The surface beneath them has to be smooth and degreased, otherwise the glue will not hold. Cut the element from the sheet, moisten only the backing paper under it with a damp sponge and a drop of detergent, and once it has softened lift it off with tweezers. Seat it in place in a thin layer of PVA glue (white glue); the manufacturer does not recommend cyanoacrylate glue. Do not use a decal softener, as it would attack the printed surface. Once seated, the detail can be pressed down gently with a wooden toothpick.

The set suits modelers who want a well-worked interior without the lengthy painting of the smallest areas, and equally those who do not trust themselves to paint tiny instruments by hand. The package contains only the accessory set; the kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
