Nieuport 24 1:32 Roden is an injection-molded plastic kit of a French fighter of the First World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
This plastic kit from Roden captures the French Nieuport 24 fighter biplane in the large 1:32 scale. Compared with the older Nieuports, the type 24 brought a rounder, aerodynamically cleaner fuselage and rounded tail surfaces. The set is made of injection-molded plastic and offers a detailed rotary engine and a well rendered cockpit; decals for period markings are enclosed. The model is meant to be glued and painted.
The Nieuport 24 was a French sesquiplane, that is a biplane with a markedly narrower lower wing. It followed on from the popular types 17 and 23 and was used by the Allied air forces on several fronts. A number of successful fighter pilots flew it.
A sesquiplane calls for careful seating of the struts and the bracing wires. Use liquid cement for the plastic and work up the cockpit and the engine before closing the fuselage. Add the rigging wires with fine thread, shade the fabric surfaces gently and paint the glossy engine parts in metal shades.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
