This kit by the Japanese brand Aoshima captures the Nissan Skyline GT-R coupe of the R33 generation in a white color form. Aoshima keeps it in its range of simplified models in 1:32 scale, which is built so that even a complete beginner can manage it: the parts are finished in color and click together, so the model can be built without glue and without painting.
The Skyline GT-R of the R33 generation was built from the mid-1990s and followed on from the previous R32. It was powered by a turbocharged RB26DETT inline six-cylinder of 2.6 liters with two turbochargers, the power was distributed to all the wheels by the electronically controlled ATTESA E-TS system, and the car also had rear-wheel steering. Compared with its predecessor it grew and was heavier, but on the circuit it counted as more stable thanks to its longer wheelbase. Together with the R32 and the later R34 it forms the generation that earned the Skyline GT-R name its cult reputation.
Cut the parts off the sprue with nippers a little way from the part and level the sprue nub with a knife or a file, so that the edge stays clean. Protect the surfaces finished in color from fingerprints, as grease shows on the color. Even so the model will take extra work: with a fine brush it pays to bring out the frames of the lights, the radiator grille and the panel gaps, by which a simplified model gains markedly. If you want to spray anything over, test the paint first on an offcut of sprue.
