1:32 RFC Fighter pilots set from Black Dog is a collected item with airmen of the Royal Flying Corps, that is the British flying corps of the time of the First World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
The abbreviation RFC stands for the Royal Flying Corps, the British flying corps that was active until the spring of 1918, when the Royal Air Force came into being. The placing of the figures in time is therefore given by the designation in the name itself, even though there is no insertion of years in it. The collection from the brand Black Dog offers the airmen as a whole, not one at a time.
British aviation displays of that time take place typically on the grassy surface of a field airfield, not on a hard runway. That has a direct impact on a diorama: make the surface of the base grassy with worn ruts, not concrete. A group of airmen standing on the grass by a machine with a fabric covering holds the period atmosphere in itself, even without further accessories. If you want to go further, a canvas shelter or wooden crates at the edge of the base suggest themselves.
Paint the figures with a shared procedure, so that they hold together, but leave differences between them in the small things - a different color of scarf, a different shade of the leather layer, a different type of headgear. Period flying clothing was not uniform and it is exactly this looseness that makes a scene believable. Apply the final matte varnish to all the figures in the same way, otherwise one of them will stand out by its sheen.
