A set of injection-molded plastic sacks of coarse burlap in 1:35 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer MiniArt. It is neither a vehicle model nor a figure but a scenic accessory. Burlap sacks are among the most versatile props of all: they held sand, cement, flour, grain, sugar and vegetables and appear just as readily in a civilian scene in a farmyard as in a field depot or on the bed of a truck. The sacks are modeled with suggested fabric texture and with a sag matching a filled load.
Once the sacks have been cut off the sprue, clean them up and sand down the seams left by the parting line, otherwise you will see them under the paint. Begin the painting with a primer, then apply a base sandy or gray-brown tone. The texture of the burlap comes out best with drybrushing in a lighter shade drawn over the raised fibers, after which a wash or a dark filter pushes shadow into the folds. Pigments and fine dust on the lower edge suggest that the sack is lying on the ground. When you stack a pile, turn the sacks slightly against each other and let the bottom layer sink a little into the base; a neatly aligned pile looks artificial.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
