A set of figures of fighter pilots of the Soviet Air Force from the period of the Second World War in 1:32 scale from the Czech manufacturer Black Dog, which casts its figures and accessories in resin. The number in the name tells the individual sets of the same range apart, so they can be combined without the poses repeating. It is not a kit of an aircraft but a group of standalone figures meant to bring a finished model or a scene to life.
A group of pilots by a machine is one of the most rewarding motifs in an aviation scene. Figures standing by the fuselage immediately show the true size of an aircraft and give a static model a story, without your having to build a whole diorama with a base and backdrops. The equipment of fighter pilots of the day, that is, a helmet, goggles, a flight suit and tall boots, is also easy to read for the period, and a viewer gets his bearings in it at once.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap to get rid of release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a knife, and do the sanding wet and with respiratory protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); cement for polystyrene will not help here. Paint over a thin base. With a group of figures it pays to vary the shades of the flight suits and the skin, so that the figures do not look like clones, and to finish the shadows in the folds with oil paints or a dark wash.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
