Photo-etched wheel chocks of the modern Soviet type in 1:32 scale are an accessory to a model and to an airfield scene, not an airplane model. The chocks are placed under the wheels of a parked machine and give a base or a diorama credibility.

A photo-etched set from the Czech maker Brengun for modelers who are building an airplane in 1:32 scale and want to put it on a base or into an airfield scene. It is not a kit: the package holds photo-etched sheet with the parts of chocks of the kind that are placed on the real subject under the wheels of a parked machine so that it does not roll away.
A model placed on a smooth base always looks a little like an exhibit in a display case. Yet it is enough to add a few items of ground equipment and it is immediately apparent that the machine is standing somewhere and being attended to. Wheel chocks are among the least conspicuous and yet the most effective small things of this kind: they are small, they do not steal attention, but they instantly give a scene scale and sense. The execution matches the modern Soviet type, that is the shape used on machines of the postwar era.
A chock is typically made up of several bends. Cut the part out of the fret with a sharp blade, make the bends in a bending tool or between two blades, always along the marked score line, and secure the joints with a minute drop of super glue applied with a pin. Anyone who dares can solder them with tin, as the joint is stronger and the excess is sanded off. Degrease the sheet before painting and spray on a primer. Chocks tend to be worn, so it pays to bring the base shade out with a dark wash, to suggest scuffing on the edges with a dry brush and to dust the underside with pigment in the color of the ground the model stands on. If you are gluing the chocks to a base, stick them down only after the dusting, so that a clean outline is left under them.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without a kit. Glue, paints and the base are not included in the package.
