Eduard 1:32 TBF/TBM Avenger exterior - photo-etched set

A photo-etched set from the Czech maker Eduard in 1:32 scale for refining the exterior surface details of the TBF/TBM Avenger carrier torpedo bomber. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory fitted to a plastic kit, which adds thin and faithful exterior features.

The real subject

The TBF Avenger is an American carrier torpedo bomber of the Second World War, also built under license as the TBM. Its surface carries a number of covers, footsteps, panels and vents, which the photo-etched set renders more faithfully than plastic.

Use and fitting

  • The parts are separated with a sharp knife and shaped with a bending tool or tweezers.
  • They are bonded with super glue applied in a small amount.
  • The plastic originals are sanded flat before the parts are fitted.
  • Degrease the brass and lay a primer for metal over it before painting.

  • Builders working in the large 1:32 scale.

This is an add-on photo-etched set. The plastic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.

No, this is an add-on photo-etched set for a plastic kit.

Super glue (cyanoacrylate) is best; ordinary cement for plastic does not hold on brass.
