To be clear from the start: this is a pack of accessory sets, not an aircraft kit. A large plastic model from a different maker carries the same name, so the two are easy to confuse. The Big Ed range from the Czech maker Eduard brings several separately sold photo-etched sets and a masking set for one particular model together into one box. In 1:32 scale that approach makes the most sense - a large model reveals every simplified detail, and photo-etched parts have room to show their worth here. The particular make-up of the pack and the number of parts are stated on the box.
The Panavia Tornado is a twin-engine combat aircraft with a variable-geometry wing and a crew of two in tandem, developed in international cooperation. The ECR version is a specialized variant intended for electronic warfare and reconnaissance; it carries the matching sensor equipment and differs from the attack versions in details of the external fit and the internal layout of the cockpit. It is precisely the two-seat cockpit, the landing gear bays and the broken-up surface of the fuselage that are the places where detail sets show the most.
Cut the photo-etched parts off on a hard surface with a sharp scalpel; never snap them off. Make the bends over a straight edge, and in a bending tool on larger areas; it is worth annealing the metal briefly before forming. Spray the degreased metal with a primer for metal, otherwise the paint will not hold. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue in small drops. Finish the cockpit, the instrument panels and the seat belts before you close the fuselage up - in a two-seat cockpit the work is doubled, so allow for that when planning. Stick the masks on clean glazing and spray the paint in thin coats; large glazed areas at this scale forgive fewer mistakes than in 1:72.
