Brengun 1:32 valve hand wheels is a photo-etched set of the small control wheels of valves and cocks. It serves as a detail for cockpits, engine compartments and airfield and workshop equipment in 1:32 scale.

This photo-etched set solves a detail on which plastic molds always lose out: the hand wheels of valves and cocks. Injected plastic cannot cast them thin enough and with the spokes cut through, so on a model they look like a blind knob. The photo-etched substitute has the right thickness and real openings between the spokes, and the difference is visible at first glance. It is not a model but a stock of small parts that you will gradually use up across several builds.
They come in anywhere something was opened and closed by hand in reality: on gas cylinders and lines in a cockpit, on fuel and hydraulic circuits in an engine compartment, on refueling stands and tankers, on workshop equipment and on the pipework of marine and industrial scenes. That is precisely why this type of set is popular with diorama builders, who distribute the wheels over a whole scene and unify the level of detail with them.
The parts are small, so work over a surface with a raised rim and use tweezers with fine tips. Separate them with a scalpel, not with scissors, so that the ring is not deformed. Dispense super glue in an amount on the tip of a wire. Apply a base coat before painting, or the shade rubs off smooth brass. The wheels are usually painted in a dark color or a metal shade, and once dry they benefit from a wash into the recesses and fine scuffing of the edges with a dry brush.
The set is an accessory, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
