Quickboost 1:48 Fairey Gannet AS.1/AS.4 exhausts from Quickboost (the Aires range) are resin replacement exhausts for the British carrier aircraft Fairey Gannet in the AS.1 and AS.4 versions in 1:48 scale. This is not an aircraft model, but a detail accessory with which you replace the plastic exhausts from the box with more faithful castings. The resin parts have sharper detail and hollowed-out, open exhaust ends, so once fitted and painted they look more convincing than the original plastic part.
The set replaces the exhaust sections of the base Fairey Gannet kit in 1:48. The open ends and the clean surface with no parting seams save the modeler cleanup work and visibly refine one of the most closely watched places on a model. The parts are designed for the matching Fairey Gannet kit in this scale.
Before gluing, wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with detergent to remove any mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a sharp knife and clean the surfaces up. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways while sanding. Apply primer before painting, and the exhausts will then come out well with metallic shades and sooting.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. A separate Fairey Gannet kit in 1:48 scale is needed to use it. Glue, paints and the kit are not included in the package.
