A sheet of decals in 1:72 scale with the markings of American M5A1 Stuart light tanks from the fighting in Normandy and in France in 1944.
Responsibility details are not available.
The M5A1 Stuart was an American light tank that followed on from the older machines of the same family and differed from them in its drive: in place of a radial engine it was given a pair of automotive V8s. For armament it carried a 37mm gun, so it was not enough against heavier machines and its place was reconnaissance, signals and escorting infantry. The turret with the extended rear is the most conspicuous recognition feature of the A1 version. In 1944 these tanks accompanied American units in Normandy and in the further advance through France.
The set is issued as a special edition commemorating the Normandy landings and is devoted to American M5A1 machines from the French battlefield of 1944. The designs are printed for 1:72 scale.
The decals are transferred in the wet way. Trim the design off tight to the print, dip it briefly in lukewarm water and let it rest until it begins to slide over the paper. Prepare the base with gloss varnish; on a gloss a decal will not turn white and will adhere reliably. A softener handles the busy area around rivets and hatches, and a matte varnish then evens the finished surface out.
The sheet will be used by modelers who build American hardware of the Western Front and want to give a light tank a particular form. The sheet of decals is supplied on its own; the model, the paints and the glue do not belong with it, unless stated otherwise.
