SX-Art 1:72 Paint mask Vought F4U-1 Corsair is a masking set for painting a model of the American Corsair carrier fighter in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item from SX-Art completes a model obtained separately. The contents are masks for spraying, thanks to which precise transitions between shades and clean clear areas come about. In 1:72 scale every inaccuracy is pronounced, because it is projected at the same ratio of enlargement as everything else, and it is exactly here that an accurately cut mask shows its worth most.
The Corsair was built around an exceptionally powerful radial engine, for which a large propeller had to be fitted. So that a reasonably short landing gear leg could be used, the aircraft received an inverted gull wing, which is its unmistakable mark of recognition. The F4U-1 version was the first production variant; the long nose worsened the view on the approach to the deck, and so the machines at first flew mainly from land bases in the Pacific. After modifications to the landing gear and the canopy, the Corsair became one of the most successful carrier fighters of the war.
Wash the clear parts in lukewarm water with detergent and let them dry in the air, so that no fingerprints cling to them. Press the supplied mask down with a soft tool that has no sharp edges. Apply the paint in several passes and each time check the edge of the mask against the light. It is best to lift it off while the finish is still slightly flexible.
