Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks for a model of the Arado Ar 196A in 1:72 scale; the target kit is Revell. The masks are stuck onto the clear canopy part and onto the areas that are to stay free of paint, and are taken off after spraying. The result is sharp, straight frames of a kind that are hard to achieve with tape by hand in this scale. The package does not hold the model, the paints or the glue.
The real subject
The Arado Ar 196 was a German two-seat floatplane used in the Second World War for reconnaissance and patrol over the sea. It took off from the water surface and in shipboard service was launched by catapult from large warships, to which it returned once the flight was over. The layout with a pair of floats and the long glazing of the cockpit for the pilot and the observer is characteristic of the type. The A version made up the main production series.
How to use the masks
Degrease the clear part and let it dry. Transfer the mask with tweezers or the tip of a scalpel, set it in place and press the edges down with a rounded tool so that paint cannot run under them. Spray the shade of the inner frames first, then the outer camouflage. Take the masks off shortly after drying, while the adhesive is still pliable. In 1:72 scale the parts are tiny, so have sharp tweezers and good lighting ready.
This is an accessory, not a model. The kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the package.
