Exhaust for the AH-1 in 1:48 scale from Art Scale is made by 3D printing and replaces the part from the original kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail set printed by three-dimensional printing, aimed at the exhaust section of the AH-1 attack helicopter. The technology allows fine walls and sharp edges that are hard to achieve by casting in a mold. On an exhaust that matters, because it is exactly its mouth that tends to look thick and shallow on a model at first glance.
The AH-1 was the first production machine built from the outset for combat support. The narrow fuselage reduced the frontal area, the crew sat in tandem, and a turret with armament traversed under the fuselage. The type proved itself in Southeast Asia and over the following decades went through a long series of modifications for ground and naval service. The exhaust is one of the places where the individual versions and operators differ from one another.
First remove the supports, ideally with a sharp knife and in several steps, so that a thin wall does not snap off. True up the marks they leave with fine abrasive paper and go over the surface with a thin coat of primer, which will reveal any grooves. Apply the metallic shades sparingly and add a dark deposit of soot around the mouth, where it clings most on the real thing.
The offer covers a separate detail, not a whole model.
