A kit of the Volkswagen Iltis in the ambulance form with a set for the medical service, 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of a half-ton cross-country vehicle with drive to all wheels, completed with equipment for the medical service. The designation SAN in the name refers to the ambulance role, that is, to the vehicles that with units provided casualty evacuation and the transport of medical material. It is an unassembled model, not a finished toy.
The Iltis came into being in the nineteen-seventies as the successor to older light cross-country vehicles and from 1978 served the German army in enormous numbers. It was a plain, light and undemanding machine with drive to both axles, which proved itself everywhere that a small load capacity was enough and the ability to get through terrain was needed. Besides Germany it was used by Canada and Belgium as well, where licensed versions came into being.
It suits builders of postwar equipment, creators of rear-area tableaux and everyone looking for a smaller vehicle with a story of its own for a diorama. The ambulance version suits a scene alongside combat equipment as well, because it brings the subject to life without drowning out the main model.
The model is supplied unassembled and without a coat of paint; paints and glue have to be bought separately.
