A resin accessory in 1:35 scale for the model of the American GMC truck of two and a half tons in the soft, that is canvas, cab version. The casting replaces the canvas covering with a part having realistic sag and folds, which injection molded plastic cannot render because of the parting line of the mold. The set holds only this accessory and not the vehicle itself.
The GMC of two and a half tons was the backbone truck of Allied supply, built in versions with a sheet metal cab and with a soft one. It is the soft cab version that has the characteristic canvas top, which changes the silhouette of the truck fundamentally, so it is a distinguishing feature and not a cosmetic detail. The resin rendering of the canvas allows the sag between the ribs, the bent corners and the tension at the tie-downs to be shown, that is exactly the small things that reveal the quality of a model.
Wash the casting in lukewarm water with dish soap first, so that no release agent is left on the surface. Cut the casting block off with a saw and level the surface by sanding wet and with your airways protected. It is glued with super glue, so try the position of the part dry, as it can no longer be corrected once that has set. Paint the canvas on its own and only then bring it together with the vehicle. Choose a matte base, put a wash into the folds and lighten the tops of the folds with a dry brush, because that is where the canvas wears most in service. Settle dust with pigment from above, where it really would collect.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
