A standalone decal sheet in 1:48 scale from the maker Two Bobs, intended for models of the Texan II turboprop trainer. It is not a kit — you are buying the decals only, which you apply to a finished model built from a separately sold kit. According to the name the sheet covers both the A and the B versions.
The T-6 Texan II is a single-engine turboprop trainer with a tandem cockpit, derived from the design of a European predecessor and adapted for the American training system. It serves for basic and advanced pilot training, has ejection seats and a pressurized cockpit, so it prepares a student for the move to jet equipment. The A and B versions differ above all in the equipment of the cockpit: the later form has a fully glass instrument panel matching current combat types. Trainers as a rule wear conspicuous white, blue or orange elements, because good visibility is a safety requirement in dense training traffic.
Trainers are densely covered with small lettering and warning marks, so there will be a great many small motifs on the sheet. Have good light, a magnifier and tweezers with fine, ideally rounded tips ready; sharp tweezers easily pierce wet film. Do not let small decals float in the water — lay them with their backing on a damp tissue and carry them to the model on the tip of a moistened brush. Work in groups and let each group dry, or the small pieces will shift as the brush passes over them. Once everything fits, unify the surface with matte or semi-matte clear, which suppresses the edges of the film completely.
