1:35 Arch windows No.12 from RT-Diorama is an architectural accessory for dioramas in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit of a vehicle and not a figure but a window element with an arched head, which is set into the wall of a building or into a set piece. The sequence number in the name tells the individual versions apart within a wider range of windows, so one facade can be put together out of several different shapes.
A semicircular or segmental arched head is one of the strongest signs of date in European buildings. Factory halls and stations of the nineteenth century carry it, as do barrack buildings, cellar and farm wings and sacred structures. In a scene an arched window therefore says at once what type of house this is, without your having to build anything else. It is also an element that takes damage well: a broken-out arched head, the remains of a frame and an empty opening are among the most rewarding subjects of diorama ruins.
Lay the window openings out on the facade before you start gluing anything - the spacing and the height of the sill will give away a disproportion faster than anything else. Seat the element so that the frame stands slightly back from the face of the masonry, as happens with masonry structures. Do not leave the inside of the window empty: a darker area, a suggestion of an interior or boards nailed across will add depth and keep the view from going through the set piece. It stands out best when you give the arched head a different texture from the surrounding area - a vault used to be of a different material from a wall.
