Barrel cleaning rods for the Tiger I in 1:35 scale from the maker ELEFANT replace the simplified part of a kit on the early, mid and late guises.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a kit but a detail accessory for models of the heavy tank Tiger I in 1:35 scale. The set replaces the rods for cleaning the bore of the gun barrel, that is the long slender part that the vehicle carried stowed on the hull. It is precisely this element that tends to be most simplified in injection-molded plastic, because it cannot be molded thin enough. According to the name the set covers the early, mid and late guises.
Barrel cleaning rods were part of the ordinary equipment of a tank and were stowed in a container on the hull. On a model they are a pronounced lengthwise detail in the line of sight, so the faithfulness of their shape is visible even from a distance. A replacement in the form of a separately made part removes the flash and the inaccurate cross-section that arise with molded plastic.
Cut the original part off the kit and sand the area smooth. Glue the accessory with cyanoacrylate, as ordinary cement for polystyrene does not hold on other materials. Before painting, degrease the whole part and apply a thin primer, otherwise the paint will not take on a smooth surface. Match the shade with the rest of the vehicle and then bring out the area around the clamps with a dark wash and fine drybrushing.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
