Responsibility details are not available.
Hobby Boss has produced in 1:35 scale the German armored recovery vehicle that handles towing damaged hardware in the field as well as changing heavy assemblies such as an engine or a turret. For the kit, the manufacturer states photo-etched parts and a metal cable for the towing equipment. The vehicle will complete any collection of modern Bundeswehr hardware.
The Bergepanzer 2 is based on the chassis of the Leopard 1 tank and is fitted with a crane, a winch and a support blade that stabilizes the machine while pulling. With it the crew can pull a stuck vehicle out of rough ground, drag a damaged tank out of the line of fire and carry out heavy repairs right in the field. The modernized version designated A2 received additional equipment and reworked protection, which kept it in the running even alongside newer generations of recovery vehicles.
Assemble the running gear on a flat surface and make sure the wheels lie in one plane — on a vehicle with a blade, any skewed chassis shows. Thread and fix the towing cable before varnishing, because it is harder to work with once the paint is on. Spray the three-color camouflage through a soft mask and keep the transitions subtle. Concentrate the mud effects on the blade and the lower areas, where they arise in reality too.
The vehicle is supplied broken down and unpainted; the modeler chooses the chemicals and the shades needed according to his own practice.
