1:35 British+German soldiers Christmas truce WW I brings both sides of the Christmas Truce together in one Black Dog box, a British and a German soldier as resin castings.
Responsibility details are not available.
A figure set from Black Dog, cast in resin, whose name explicitly gives both a British and a German soldier. Unlike the separately sold figures, then, you get a ready basis for a composition here, in which one side answers the other in both pose and direction of gaze.
The short lull in the firing at Christmas 1914 is among the most often recalled episodes of trench warfare. Men from both sides left their shelters, met in the ground between the positions and talked together for a while. For a modeler it is a view built on a gesture, not on action: what decides it is the distance between the figures, the angle of the shoulders and where each of them is looking. If you leave too large a gap between them, the view falls apart into two unconnected figures.
Once the castings are cleaned and the casting blocks cut off, simply lay the figures on the base and try the arrangement dry. Only when the composition works should you drill holes in the soles for wire pins and glue them in with cyanoacrylate glue. Do the painting separately and join the two figures only once the faces are finished. To keep the view together, run shared muted lighting across both uniforms and set them apart by the shade of the cloth, not by the amount of contrast.
