A set of figures of British tank crewmen from the fighting in Normandy in 1:35 scale. Intended to complete vehicle models and scenes with vehicles.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set represents British tank crewmen from the period of the fighting in Normandy. Crews of armored vehicles differed from the infantry in both equipment and headgear, because they worked in the cramped space of a vehicle. Figures beside a model do the job the vehicle itself cannot: they give it scale and hint at a story. It is only next to a human figure that you can see how big the machine really was and how the crew got into it.
It is a set of several figures in 1:35 scale, the most widespread scale for vehicle models. The exact number of figures and their stances are shown in the manufacturer's instructions; use them to decide which figures to seat in hatches and which to stand on the ground beside the vehicle. The set suits both a single vehicle in a display case and the basis of a small scene.
Cut the excess material and the traces of manufacture away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest carefully, so that the shapes of the folds are not damaged. Wash and degrease the figures before painting. An undercoat works well, followed by the faces and hands and only then the uniforms. Paint in thin coats and make sure all the figures in one scene have identically mixed shades; otherwise they will look out of place beside one another. Pick out the small items of equipment at the very end with a fine brush.
Figures are supplied. The vehicle model, paints, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
