The eight-wheel (8x8) amphibious vehicle is captured with its characteristic low armored hull and small gun turret. The BTR-70 is a Soviet wheeled armored personnel carrier introduced in the 1970s as the successor to the older BTR-60. It was powered by a pair of gasoline engines, had drive on all eight wheels and was fully amphibious, crossing water with a waterjet. It carried an infantry squad under armored protection and mounted a turret with machine gun armament. It spread through the armies of the Warsaw Pact and many other countries and became one of the typical wheeled carriers of its era.
On a wheeled vehicle, take care over the correct seating of the axles and the alignment of all eight wheels, so that the model stands level. Paint the chassis and the lower hull before finishing. Enliven the single-color green finish with panel shading and a gloss coat under the decals. Build the weathering with dark washes in the gaps and above all with dust and mud pigments on the wheels, the fenders and the lower areas, because wheeled equipment tends to be muddy.
