An injection-molded plastic kit of the Canadian wheeled armored vehicle AVGP Cougar in its improved form, 1:35 scale, made by Trumpeter. The set offers a well-broken-up hull, a turret, a separate rear panel with exit doors and hollow rubber tires with a tread pattern; the model is built unassembled and unpainted.
The Cougar is the turreted variant of the Canadian AVGP (Armoured Vehicle General Purpose) family, built on a 6x6 wheeled chassis derived from the MOWAG Piranha concept. The family entered Canadian service in 1976. The Cougar was armed with a turret and a gun and served for fire support and for training; around two hundred vehicles were acquired in all, and after rearming onto the Coyote type their number in service fell.
First assemble the running gear and the axles carefully, so that the model stands level on all its wheels. Glue the turret and the joints of the hull with thin cement for plastic. After spraying the base coat (primer), choose the Canadian olive green scheme; bring out the edges with dry-brushing, draw the engraved lines in with a dark wash and round the lower areas out with dust pigments for a sense of service wear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
